Harmony Golf Preserve coaches Harmony High School Golf Team
| |||
Harmony Golf Preserve has been directly linked with Harmony High School from the very begining. We have been involved with the school through golf, football, and numerous other activities and events. This past season we had the pleasure of being able to help out the Harmony High School boy's golf team by being their home course. In addition, we took the relationship to a "hole" new level by becoming personally involved; Harmony Golf Preserve's First Assistant Professional, Johnathan Vaughan, stepped in to become the Harmony High School varsity boy's golf coach.
Harmony Golf Preserve's Head Golf Professional Todd Van Meer said "We were excited that Johnathan had become the coach of the boy's golf team. It was a great way to continue to strengthen and grow our relationship with the high school."
Johnathan has been playing and working in the golf business for a number of years but this is his first venture into coaching. According to him "I'm really excited to get to work with the kids, I take a lot of enjoyment in teaching the game and helping players of all levels and abilities improve. But what really excites me about coaching is not just helping the kids grow as players but helping them grow as individuals. I have always had a dream to be a coach and give back to the game that has given me so much. In a small way, I think that by me coaching I am recognizing the coaches and teachers I've had that have helped me to become the person I am today."
According to Harmony High School Athletic Director Chuck Hitt "The addition of Johnathan as the coach of our boy's golf program has enabled our players to make the next step in becoming better golfers. He is able to relate to our players and is working on getting the most out of their games. Altogether we believe that this is great for Harmony High School, Harmony Golf Preserve, and most especially the kids." As Chuck also said "Harmony Golf Preserve is working extensively to build the relationship between their facility and Harmony High School. We intend to continue working together in the building process in the hopes of making both parties a winner."
