HARMONY TO HOST OSCEOLA COUNCIL ON AGING WORKSHOP
Harmony, Fla. – The Osceola Council on Aging (www.osceolagenerations.org) recently opened the Barney E. Veal Center, located just west of Florida’s Turnpike off HWY192. This new 42,000 square-foot multi-faceted community amenity is a special needs shelter but also includes a medical clinic, adult day care, nutrition center, library, senior center, family self-sufficiency program and a host of other intergenerational services for Osceola County residents. Two Osceola Council on Aging (OCA) directors will be speaking at Harmony’s Clubhouse on August 15 at 1:30 p.m. (refreshments and snacks provided).
Guest Speakers are Rob Dent, Marketing & Development Director and Connie Bellanceau, Volunteer Services Director. Rob and Connie will offer volunteer opportunities as well as discuss the wide array of services now offered by OCA at the Barney E. Veal Center. This is an interactive workshop that will cover important issues for families and discuss solutions for all types of real life scenarios. The workshop will cover topics that affect everyone and is open to all ages.
“This is no longer your grandparent’s Council on Aging,” explains Rob Dent, Marketing & Development Director at OCA. “The Barney E. Veal Center has been designed for broadening the scope of services we offer, including many things in support of a more intergenerational appeal for clients. We will be sharing ideas on how Harmony’s residents may utilize our services or become a volunteer or senior companion.”
Please join us at Harmony on Wednesday, August 15 at 1:30 p.m. You may visit Harmony’s Calendar of Events to view other event details, or call (407) 891-8525 to speak with a member of the Harmony staff. Mr. Dent may be reached for comment at (407) 846-8541.
